- Jennifer Joanna Aniston was born February 11, 1969 to soap opera actor John Aniston and actress Nancy Dow. Aniston’s father was born in Greece and her godfather was the actor Telly Savalas. Her mother was born in New York City where Aniston grew up.
- Aniston moved to Hollywood in 1989. In 1994, she was cast on Friends (interestingly, originally slated to audition for the role of Monica Geller). In 2002, Aniston won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy.
- The 2005 Guinness World Book of Records lists Aniston (along with her female costars) as the highest paid TV actress of all time with her $1 million-per-episode paycheck for the tenth season of Friends in 2004.
